I was born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco. As the youngest child of ten siblings, I grew up assisting my mother to prepare food for the family, gradually learning both the traditional methods of Moroccan cuisine and our family’s culinary secrets.
My mother’s kitchen was basic, free of the modern conveniences we have come to expect today. Every morning, I accompanied my father (who owned a café and restaurant nearby) to the wholesale farmers market, which was overwhelmingly stocked with fresh fruit, vegetables, and livestock. With a family our size, there were rarely leftovers!
As an adult I have worked in kitchens and restaurants, honing my skills. These skills know no greater challenge than preparing meals for my young daughter and husband.
My book was years in the making; each recipe tested, refined, simplified and improved over time. I have combined both traditional recipes and my own twists to provide the reader with a culinary experience bursting with the exotic tastes and heady aromas of Morocco.
Now with my website I hope to expand on the book, bringing new recipes to food lovers and discovering new tastes along the way.
